Encrappto is a webbased message app that enables you to send and receive fully encrypted messages from your contacts. If you are logged in you can decrypt any message that you received. This way all your messages are unreadable for anybody but you! Even when you are logged in, you only see the encrypted messages. Click the message to decrypt it on the fly.
When you send a message to a friend he/she gets notified by mail that there is a message waiting to be decrypted in his/her Encrappto account. The messages are stored encrypted by 3 special codes: one from the sender, one from the receiver and a secret one from Encrappto. And all 3 codes are required to decrypt the message!
Your messages are stored in the encrypted format. Only when you click on 'Decrypt' the server will on the fly decrypt the message and send it to your device so that you can read it. This readable message is send using SSL/TLS encryption on a secure https protocol.
All that your send and received can only read by you and your friend. Messages are not stored on your device, but you can access them from any device using a internet browser. All your messages are save and you have full control in deleting message permanently! It is even possible to check the 'self destruct' option when you send a message! This way the encrypted messages will be completely destroyed after your friend has read it.
Conversations are not stored on your device! So, even if you loose it, someone makes unauthorised use of your device there is nothing.
